ediGogy – UK
In conjunction with John Beer, we are gathering a powerful and motivated group of people to create our first ediGogy model in the East of England.
We want to combine the individual actions of many talented and perceptive groups to facilitate a successful solution to identified problems. Subject to further work, we hope that Norfolk will be our first site in the UK to act as a model for others.
Application of this model will help:
- Close the Skills Gap by balancing the supply of education to the demands of the labour market
- Create a more productive, responsive and efficient relationship between education providers and employers using innovative technologies and new methodologies
- Create courses and programmes that are more interesting, relevant and practical for learners and employers
- Allow teachers to operate more effectively and efficiently
- Create a micro assessment of skills and a measurement of the whole person, making recruitment more productive and reliable
- Guarantee a job for each learner who successfully completes a course
- Encourage the growth and development of local employment and create new economic and business models
- Improve local economies, infrastructure and social well-being
- Integrate new pedagogies and learning and assessment systems in order to make learning scalable, efficient and relevant for the teacher and learner
How are we going to do it?
Having found a site we will:
- Find partners to develop our first ediGogy skills hub
- Find other interested parties to monitor the development of our model
- Disseminate the knowledge we gain and the models we develop with partners who have similar aspirations and goals
- Combine these separate initiatives to produce better, overall solutions
How is what we are doing different?
We know we have the complete solution; we have the example of a succesful physical working model for reference.
We have refined and developed the model over three years into:
- A new way of learning which engages current learners, allowing them to create their own individual learning pathways
- A new way of assessing learning, both in terms of competencies and the whole person
- A new process to connect employers and learners, including existing employees
- A new business model to fund learning
- A way for organisations to integrate their needs and training content into apprenticeship training, talent management, recruitment and performance development
- A way to map assessments and outcomes to any existing qualifications frameworks, in real time or retrospectively
- A way to build a career development pathway from school into the workplace

We don’t think it will work – we know it works and we know how.
What sort of partners are we looking for?
What we want:
- People who accept there is a problem
- Partners and support people who are looking for solutions to the problems
What we don’t want:
- To engage in further debate about whether or not there is a problem – the time for that is finished
- To get tied up in or slowed down by red tape – we will create business models which self-fund, leaving us with the ability to operate independently
We know that there is a problem. No one has produced a successful solution except the one, single model which we have found and studied extensively.

Chairman – ‘Mover & shaker’ Co Founder
At the age of 6 years, Wim wanted to create a knowledge exchange process, from seniors to juniors. He has had to wait until retirement to achieve this. Leaving school at 16 he was completely self-taught when he went alone to the US in 1978 to discover the world. By the age of 28, he was managing six hundred staff. Then as CEO of INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL from 1988-2002, he managed global development in 65 countries with more than 1,600 employees. Now he’s using his global management experience, knowledge of finance and his passion for creating communities for learning and social development, to improve the world.
CEO – ‘Catalyst’ Founder
Chris is a passionate educational reformer and teacher of 12 years. School lost interest for him at 16 and thanks to a rugby career he was lucky to find an understanding company that employed him! 13 years ago he wanted to become involved in e-learning and to understand learning better he qualified as a teacher, eventually lecturing in business studies and economics at a business school in Cambridge, UK.
The mix of his entrepreneurship business and divergent thinking skills, knowledge of e-learning and technology, and his education background make him the ideal disrupter in the ed-tech sector!
‘Learning guru’ Co Founder
Steve is an addicted lifelong learner, author, teacher, education consultant, and DJ. With over 800 education books published, Steve has been involved in writing curriculum, assessment programs and educational TV programs around the world and has more recently been designing and developing cross-platform educational Apps and assessment materials. He is also an acknowledged expert in test psychometrics and test validity, currently working as a consultant to regulatory authorities and formerly a Chief Examiner and Chair of Examiners. He has worked on large-scale projects on assessment, skills development, and curriculum development in the UK, USA, Malaysia, Chile, Bermuda, Romania and Gibraltar.
‘Technical Founder and free fall guru’
Ken is a keen skydiver and can often be seen throwing himself out of perfectly good aeroplanes. He is CEO of our software development partner Thematic Networks Ltd, who provide a framework for the development of bespoke online collaborative business community platforms. Ken graduated in Economics from Nottingham and has a Finance MBA from Cass Business School. Formerly, Ken was with HSBC in a number of senior trading management roles, most recently as Head of E-Trading, and Head of Trading and Sales for the Asia-Pacific region, before starting Thematic Capital Partners, where he has incubated several successful software start-ups.
‘Ed Tech expert’
Jeff is a creative education leader who believes in opportunities for all and the power of education technology to transform education ecosystems. After 35 years in education as a teacher, senior leader, senior examiner, advisor and consultant, Jeff has worked in the public and commercial sectors on regional, national and international initiatives. This includes the Building Schools for the Future Programme, creating Academies and Free Schools, University Technology Colleges and Studio Schools. He has been central in the development of many national and international programmes involving ICT, including content development, curriculum development, change management and the use of data analytics.
Consultant ediGogy hubs UK
After ignoring the pressures to continue formal education John started as an Apprentice Telecommunications Engineer with the GPO. John now has over 40 years’ experience and has held various management positions with Xerox Corporation, Fujitsu Europe Ltd and Canon Europe Ltd and currently is an advisor to the European Commission for ICT projects and business models. John’s passion is ‘business disruption’ and has co-founded a Machine Learning / AI company. His real passion is to develop a model to regenerate the economic and the social landscape of Rural and Coastal regions through a framework delivering aspirational demand based skills of the future and self-sustaining.
Holly has worked in international human resources for more than 25 years, holding positions both as a consultant (Arthur Andersen, Ernst & Young) and as an in-house practitioner (Fidelity Investments, Seagate Technologies). She holds BA and MSM degrees in International Business & Economics. After relocating nine times in fifteen years, she settled in the UK in 2007. Holly has a particular affinity for start-up/merger & acquisition projects with experience across Europe and northern Africa. She is passionate about coaching and team development. On weekends, she can be found either supporting her favourite Premier League team or exhibiting her work at a local artisan market.
Roberta is another of Chris’s ex students, a strategic accountant with over ten years experience across industry and practice. During this time she helped businesses to transform their finance and operation systems to increase profitability. Outside of her professional career, Roberta enjoys personal development, travel, culture and sports adventures. With a number of different projects in mind, she organized a charity fundraiser for a school in Togo, Africa in 2013. She also took four months to explore and travel across Mexico, the US, and Canada, all whilst doing continuous studies at Stanford University, California.
